Vectis are a band from Portugal that plays a blackened form of thrash metal and this is a review of their 2019 demo "The Executioner" which will be released on June 27th by Helldprod Productions.
A very dark and ritualistic sounding intro starts off the ep before going into a heavier musical direction while the music also has a great amount of 80's influences. When the music speeds up a great amount of blast beats can be heard while the vocals sound like a mix between first wave black metal and early death metal.
Elements of thrash can also be heard quite a bit throughout the recording while the solos and leads bring in more of an old school extreme metal style. The riffs also bring in a decent amount of blast beats along with the music sounding like it could of easily been recorded and released in t he mid 80's or early 90's.
Vectis plays a style of blackened thrash metal that goes back to the early days of the genre. The production sounds very old school while the lyrics cover dark, violent, satanic and blasphemous themes.
In my opinion Vectis are a very great sounding blackened thrash metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this ep. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Executioner" and "Warriors Of Hell". 8 out of 10.
