Human Failure/Crown On The Head Of A King Of Mud/Caligari Records/Sentient Ruin Laboratories/2021 EP Review

 

  Human  Failure  are  a  solo  project  from  the  United  States  that  plays  a  mixture  of  black,  death  metal,  harsh  noise,  power  electronics  and  punk  and  this  is  a  review  of  his  2021  ep  "Crown  On  The  Head  Of  A  King  Of  Mud"  which  was  released  as  a  joint  effort  by  Caligari  Records  and  Sentient  Ruin  Laboratories.

  Harsh  noises  and  power  electronics  start  off  the  epo  before  going  into  a  very  fast  and  brutal  musical  direction  which  also  uses a   great  amount  of  blast  beats.  Vocals  are  mostly  guttural  death  metal  growls  while  black  metal  screams  can  also  be  heard  at  times  and  the  solos  and  leads  are  also  done  in  a  very  chaotic  style.

  At  times  the  music  also  captures  the  raw  energy  of  punk  rock  while  the  songs  also  add  in  a  decent  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts.  Dark  sounding  melodies  are  also  added  into  some  of  the  guitar  riffing  along  with  all  of  the  musical  instruments  also  having  a  very  powerful  sound  to  them  as  well  as  one  of  the  tracks  also  being  an  instrumental.

  Human  Failure  plays  a  musical  style  that t akes  black,  death  metal,  harsh  noise,  power  electronics  and  punk  and  mixes  them  together  to  create  a  sound  of  his  own.  The  production  sounds  very  dark  and  heavy  while  the  lyrics  cover  political  and  social  economic  themes.

  In  my  opinion  Human  Failure  are  a  very  great  sounding  mixture  of  black,  death  metal,  harsh  noise,  power  electronics  and  punk  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  those  musical  genres,  you  should  check  out  this  solo  project.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Poison  Ideals"  and  "Your  Hope  is  A  Noose".  8  out  of  10.
