Wratheon are a solo project from the United States that plays a blackened form of thrash metal and this is a review of his self released 2021 ep "Black Thrash Mass".
Melodic guitar solos and leads and drum beats start off the ep while all of the musical instruments on the recording also have a very powerful sound to them. Vocals are mostly grim sounding black metal screams along with the riffs also adding in a great amount of thrash metal elements and synths can also be heard briefly.
Melodies are also added into some of the guitar riffing while blast beats are also added into the faster sections of the songs. Throughout the recording you can also hear a decent mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts along with the music also adding in a good balance between modern and old school influences as well as one of the tracks being an instrumental.
Wratheon plays a musical style that takes black and thrash metal and mixes them together to create a sound of his own. The production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover real evil, triumphant war cries and nihilism themes.
In my opinion Wratheon are a very great sounding mixture of black and thrash metal and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this solo project. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "In Seance" and "Unescapable Null". 8 out of 10.
