Silurian are a band from Minneapolis, Minnesota that plays a blackened from of death metal and this is a review of their 2022 ep "End Of Ordovicia" which will be released in September by Ordovician Records.
Melodic tremolo picking starts off the ep while the faster sections of the songs also add in a great amount of brutal sounding blast b eats. Vocals are a mixture of death metal growls and black metal screams while all of the musical instruments on the recording also have a very powerful sound to them.
Throughout the recording you can also hear a decent mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts while t he solos and leads are also done in a very melodic and technical style along with the whole ep also sticking to a heavier direction.
Silurian plays a style of blackened death metal that is very aggressive and technical sounding. The production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover pre-historic and reptilian entities.
In my opinion Silurian are a very great sounding blackened death metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this ep. RECOMMENDED TRACK "Gondwanian Sacrifice". 8 out of 10.
