Svdestada are a band from Spain that has had music reviewed before in this zine and on this recording goes for a mixture of black metal and crust punk and this is a review of their album "Candela " which will be released in 2024 as a joint effort between Long Legs long Arms and Shove Records.
A very heavy and melodic crust punk influenced sound starts off the album along with some black metal screams a few seconds later. Tremolo picking and blast beats are also added into the faster sections of the songs while all of the musical instruments on the recording also have a very powerful sound to them.
Throughout the recording you can also hear a good mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts while some of the riffing also shows an influence of post hardcore. A couple of songs also adds in a small amount of clean playing, melodic guitar leads can also be heard briefly and the closing track is also very long and epic in length and also adds in a small amount of folk instruments towards the end.
On this recording Svdestada goes for a mixture of black emtal, crust punk and melodic post hardcore which is also very different from their previous release. The production sounds very professional while the lyrics are written in Spanish and cover abandonment, nostalgia and solitude themes.,
In my opinion this is another decent sounding recording from Svdestada and if you are a fan of black metal crust punk and melodic post hardcore, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Nudo" and "Efimero" and "Candela". 7/5 out of 10.
