Xaoz are a band from Poland that plays a blackened form of death metal and this is a review of their 2015 album "Vexilla Regis (Produent Inferni)" which was released by Defense Records.
A very dark death metal sound starts off the album along with some morbid sounding melodies and after awhile brutal blast beats and growling vocals are added into the music along with a few black metal screams and the songs also bring in a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts and the solos and leads also remain true to a black/death metal style while also being melodic at times,
The music is perfectly balanced between both black and death metal and creates a very dark style of blackened death metal and all of the musical instruments have a very powerful sound to them and while the album is mostly heavy and brutal there is one track that also adds a few seconds of clean playing onto the recording.
Xaoz plays a musical style that takes the Polish style of death metal and makes it more brutal and also mixes it in with black metal to create a sound of their own, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover dark, blasphemous and occult themes.
In my opinion Xaoz are a very great sounding blackened death metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Mother Death" "Zazel, The Spirit" "Through The Eyes Of The Court" and "Xibalba". 8 out of 10.
