Goholor Interview

1.For those that have never heard of you before, can you tell us a little bit about the band?
1. Goholor is death/black metal band which came into existence in 2010. The band went through many problems and changes and in its final form there are three members. Demo (guitars, vocals), Pio (drums), Anton (vocals). The guitar player and the drummer have also their own project Dimonsium Chaotic.

2.In January you had released an ep, how would you describe the musical sound that is presented on the recording?
2. We have recorded and produced it by ourselves. The final changes were made in the studio. We are quite satisfied with the sound but we would like to improve it in the future.

3.Can you tell us a little bit more about the lyrical topics and subjects the band explores with the music?
3. The themes are connected with the period of darkness, tortures, demonism and inquisition. Our themes reflect how cruel the life was in the time of darkness.

4.What is the meaning and inspiration behind the name 'Goholor'?
4. The name Goholor comes from enochian language and it means arise. We were inspired by the old enochian language which was used in the rituals.

5.What are some of the best shows that the band has played so far and also how would you describe your stage performance?
5. Unfortunately the band Goholor has not had live performances, yet. In the future we plan to have live performances.

6.Do you have any touring or show plans for the future?
6. Of course we would like to play live concerts. Unfortunately we do not have enough material and musicians for live performances. We hope it will change in the future and you will see us playing on stage.

7.On a worldwide level how has the feedback been to your music by fans of black and death metal?
7. The reactions have been very good and we are pleasantly surprised that people from all over the world have accepted it so well.

8.What is going on with 'Dimensium Chaotic; these days a band that also shows most of the same members?
8. Dimonsium Chaotic is not active at the moment because our main priority is Goholor and the creation of full valid album.

9.When can we expect a full length and also where do you see the band heading into musically during the future?
9. The full length is just a question of time which we do not have much. I have already started writing new songs which will be darker and more brutal than so far. In the future Goholor plans to perform live concerts and produce dark music

10.What are some of the bands or musical styles that have had an influence on your music and also what are you listening to nowadays?
10. Well, we have been inspired by death and black metal bands from 90's and also the new blackened death metal wave. We listen to many bands of different genres. I listen to Death Congregation, Necrowreth, Entrails, Necrophobic, Lucifyre, Absu... and many other bands I have in my player.

11.How would you describe your views on Occultism?
11. Occultism is very interesting theme. There exist many kinds of it and everyone can find something interesting in it. We are not supporters of any kind of occultism- we are just fascinated by it.

12.Before we wrap up this interview, do you have any final words or thoughts?
12. We would like to thank you for your support and we would like to hail all those who support us. We appreciate it! Big thanks!

Gretting of Goholor!Thank you!!!

Goholor/In Saeculis Obscuris/Symbol Of Domination Productions/Schattenkult Produktionen/2016 EP Review

Goholor  are  a  band  from  Slovakia  that  plays  a  blackened  form of  death  metal  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  2016  ep  "In  Saeculis  Obscuris"  which  was  released  as  a  joint  effort  between  Symbol  Of  Domination  Productions  and  Schattenkult  Produktionen.

A very  heavy  sound  starts  off  the  ep  along  with  some  death  metal  growls  a  few  seconds later  and  you  can  also  hear  some  melodies  in  the  music  at  times  and  the  fast  parts  also  use  a  great  amount  of  blast  beats and  tremolo  picking  while  the  vocals  also  mix  in  black  metal  screams  at  times.

Throughout  the  recording  you can  hear  a  great  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and fast  parts  and  when  guitar  leads  are  utilized  they  bring  even  more  of  a  melodic  style  to  the  bands  musical  sound  and  all  of  the  musical  instruments  sound  very  powerful  and  the  whole  ep  rmeains  heavy  from  beginning  to  ending  of  the  recording.

Goholor  plays  a  musical  style  that  takes  black  and  death  metal  and  mixes  it  together  to  create  a  style  of  their  own,  the  production  sounds  very  professional  while  the  lyrics  cover  dark,  blasphemous  and  occult  themes.

In  my  opinion  Goholor  are  a  very  great  sounding  blackened  death  metal  band  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  this  musical  genre,  you  should  check  out  this  ep.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Act Of  Infernal  Prayer"  and  "Symbols  Of  Blasphemy".  8  out  of  10.
