Et Moriemur are a band from Italy that has had music reviewed before in this zine and on this recording plays a very atmospheric sounding mixture of black, doom and death metal and this is a review of their album "Tamashi No Yama" which will be released in 2022 by Transcending Obscurity Records.
Movie samples start off the album along with some tragic sounding pianos a few seconds later while classical guitars, harps and stringed instruments can also be heard in certain sections of the recording. Elements of doom metal can also be heard in the slower sections of the songs and the riffs also add in a great amount of melody.
Vocals are mostly black metal screams while death metal growls can also be heard at times along with the recording also having its atmospheric moments. The songs also mix in a decent amount of 90's influences along with the solos and leads also being done in a very melodic style.
One song also adding in a brief use of spoken word parts and at times the music also shows touches of Japanese folk music , as the album progresses a brief use of clean vocals can also be heard on a couple of songs. One track also adds a brief use of fast playing and blast beats and the closing song is very long and epic in length. The production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover Japanese Folklore.
In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from Et Moriemur and if you are a fan of atmospheric black, doom and death metal, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Haneda" "Izu" and "Takamagahara". 8 out of 10.
