Our Place Of Worship Is Silence/Disavowed, And Left Hopeless/Translation Loss Records/2021 Full Length Review

Los  Angeles,  California's  Our  Place  Of  Worship  Is  Silence  have  returned  with  a  new  recording  which  continues  the  blackened  death  metal  style  of  previous  releases  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  2021  album  "Disavowed,  And  Left  Hopeless"  which  was  released  by  Translation  Loss  Records.

A  very  dark  yet  heavy  sound  starts  off  the  album  while  spoken  word  parts  can  also  be  heard  briefly.  When  the  music  speeds  up  a  decent  amount  of  brutal  sounding  blast  beats  are  also  utilized  along  with  the  vocals  also  adding  in a  good  mixture  of  death  metal  growls  and  black  metal  screams.

Tremolo  picking  is  also  added  into  some  of  the  faster  riffing  while  the  music  also  adds  in  a  small  amount  of  atmospheric  elements  at  times.  Throughout  the  recording  you  can  also  hear  a  decent  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts  along  with  some  of  the  tracks  also  being  very  long  and  epic  in  length,  when  guitar  solos  and  leads  are  utilized  they  are  also  done  in  a  very  dark  style  and  all  of  the  music  sticks  to  a  heavier  direction.

On  this  recording  Our  Place  of  Worship  Is  Silence  remain  true  to  the  blackened  death  emtal  style  that  they  have  established  on  previous  releases.  The  production  sounds  very  professional  while  the  lyrics  cover  the  metaphysical  conflicts  of  man,  the  esoteric,  and  the  search  for  meaning  in  an  already  plagued  world.

In  my  opinion  this  is  another  great  sounding  recording  from  Our  Place  of  Worship  Is  Silence  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  blackened  death  metal,  you  should  check  out  this  album.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Covenant  Of  The  Fallen"  "Diavowed,  And  Left  Hopeless"  and  "The  Scourge".  8  out  of  10.

A  very  powerful  sounding  bass  guitar  starts  off  the  album which  also  leads  to  more  of  a  heavier  direction  while  violent  samples  can  also  be  heard  briefly  while  the  faster  sections  of the  songs  also  bringing  in  a  great  amount  of  brutal  blast  beats  along  with  the  vocals  being  mostly  deep  yet guttural  death metal  growls.

Throughout  the  recording  you  can  also  hear  a  great  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts  while  the  music  also  mixes  in  a  great  amount  of black  metal  elements  with  the  tremolo  picking  along  with  the  solos  and  leads  also  sticking  to  a  more  chaotic  death  metal  style,  the  music  always  remains  very  heavy  and  brutal  as  well  as  the  closing  track  being  very  long  and  epic  in  length.

Our Place Of Worship Is Silence/The Embodiment Of Hate/Broken Limbs/2016 FUll Length Review

Our  Place  Of  Worship  Is  Silence  are  a  band  from  Los  Angeles,  California  that  plays  a  blackened  form  of  death  metal  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  2016  album  "The  Embodiment  Of Hate"  which  will  be  released  in  October  by  Broken  Limbs.

Distorted  spoken  word  samples  start  off  the  album  along  with  some  heavy  guitars  a  few  seconds  later  which  also  leads  to  guttural  death  metal  growls  making  their  presence  known  on  the  recording  and  when  the  music  speeds  up  a  great  amount  of  blast  beats  can  be  heard  and  you  can  also  hear  all  of  the  musical  instruments  that  are present on  the  recording.

A  great  amount  of  90's  influences  can  be  heard  quite  a  bit  throughout  the  recording  and  the  faster  sections  of  the  songs  also  use  a  great  amount  of  tremolo  picking  which  also  gives  the  recording  more  of  a  black  metal  feeling  and  angry  screams  can  also  be  heard  in  certain  sections  of  the  recording  while  the  tracks  also  bring  in  a  great  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts.

As  the  album  progresses  a  brief  use  of  guitar  leads  can  be  heard  and  they  also  remain  true  to  black/death  metal  style  and  they  close  the  album  with  a  cover  of  Clandestine  Blaze's  "Church  Of  Atrocity"  and  the  whole  album also  remains  very  heavy  and  brutal  from  beginning to  ending  of  the  recording  with  no  soft  or  clean  parts  ever utilized.

Our  Place  Of  Worship  Is  Silence  plays  a  musical  style  that takes  a  very  brutal  style  of  death  metal  and  mixes  it  with  black  metal  to  create  a  sound  of  their  own,  the  production  sounds  very  professional  while  the  lyrics  cover  existentialism,  blasphemy  and  violence  themes.

In  my  opinion  Our  Place  Of  Worship  Is  Silence  are  a  very  great  sounding  blackened  death  metal  band  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  this  musical  genre,  you  should  check  out  this  album.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Resplendent  Misery"  "To  Deceive  The  Universe"  and "Church  of  Atrocity".  8  out  of  10.
