Spiter are a band from Pennsylvania that has had music reviewed before in this zine and on this recording plays a mixture of black, thrash metal and hardcore punk and this is a review of their 2024 ep "Enter The Gates Of Fucking Hell" which was released by Hells Headbangers Records.
Horror movie style synths start off the ep along with a brief use of spoken word parts before going into a heavier thrash metal direction. When the music speeds up a great amount of blast beats can be heard while the vocals are mostly high pitched black metal screams and the songs also mix in a lot of hardcore punk elements.
Tremolo picking can also be heard in some of the faster riffing while the songs also add in a decent mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts. Melodies are also added into some of the guitar riffing along with some of the vocals also adding in very rough yet semi clean style at times which also adds in touch of deathrock, when guitar leads are utilized they stick to more of an old school metal/punk style.
On this recording Spiter plays a musical style that takes black, thrash metal and hardcore punk and mixes them together to create a very dark and heavy release. The production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover Vampirism, Occultism and Horror themes.
In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from Spiter and if you are a fan of black, thrash metal and hardcore, you should check out this ep. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Drowning In Darkness' and "Reflection of the Vampire". 8 out of 10.
