1.Can you give us an update on what has been going on with the band since the recording of the new ep?
Hello! After the recording session we played some gigs, among others a mini tour with Samael. Then MNT (former drummer) left the band after ten years, and we had to find a new drummer. Urpin (ex- In Twilight's Embrace) decided to join us on drums, so the line-up is completed. Now we plan to play some gigs, the EP is already released, so it's time to promote this stuff on stage.
2.In April you have a new ep coming out, how would you describe the musical sound that is presented on the recording and also how does it differ from the stuff you have released in the past?
As I said “Glorious Sinners” is out now, I think we have finally found our sound, which is raw and harsh, and from the other side it's selective and mighty. A couple of Marshall amplifiers gave us that possibility. I'm not sure there are many differences between our new stuff and previous releases. Rather it's a follow-up of our music style, which we begun on “Chalice Of Contempt”. On this EP we are much more into black metal, than in the past.
3.You label your music as 'Anti Christian Thrash and your lyrics also continue in that tradition, can you tell us a little bit more about your hate for this religion?
We called it Hateful Antichristian Thrash, that's the title of our track from the split with Ebola, which was recorded 12 years ago. Our lyrics are indeed very antichristian and antireligious, because the country we're living in is so sick about religion and christianity. That's our response. Lyrics on the new EP concern papacy and its dark chapters, hypocrisy and crimes.
4.What is the meaning and inspiration behind the name 'Bloodthirst'?
There's actually no special meaning and inspiration. A long time ago I chose this name, because Necrophobic had a track titled “Bloodthirst” on their “Darkside” album. I just thought, that's a good name for a band, that's all.
5.The band has been around for 17 years, what is it that has kept you motivated to keep going after all of this time?
That's right, a long time has passed since I created this band in march 99'. The band still exists, because I just like to play my favourite kind of music, I like to play gigs, record new stuff, being a part of the metal underground, all of these elements are so important for me, and it's an integral part of my life.
6.What are some of the best shows that the band has played over the years and also how would you describe your stage performance?
Last November we played a mini tour with Samael in Poland, it was a great experience for us. I mention our gigs in Latvia and Lithuania, they were great too, otherwise our tour with Furia four years ago was perfect, I think. There were a lot of great gigs in our past, I hope the upcoming shows will be amazing too. About our stage performance: we don't use any special exhibits, we just hit the stage and try to destroy everyone and everything in the club.
7.Do you have any touring or show plans once the ep is released?
Yes, we have confirmed already two gigs in Poland this Spring, and we plan to play a tour in the fall this year, but there are no details at the moment. Playing gigs is so important for our music, so we try to play as often as it's possible.
8.The band has been on Pagan Records for almost 10 years, do you feel this label has helped get your music out there heard a lot more than some of the other record labels that you have worked with in the past?
Pagan Records is the only label we have ever cooperated permanently. They released all of ours full-length albums and two EPs. I think, this is the best place for us at the moment, so we don't want to search for another label. We cooperated with some other record labels in the past, they were also good for us, we have never worked with any rip-off label, fortunately. But Pagan Records does the best work for us, so we still work together, since 2007.
9.On a worldwide level how has the feedback been to your music by fans of black and thrash metal?
You know, we are not a well-known band, but the feedback is good I think. I read a few reviews of our new EP, all of them are great, so I hope this trend will continue.
10.Are any of the band members also involved with any other bands or musical projects these days?
Yes, our bassist Rybosh plays also in In Twilight's Embrace, and second guitarist has 3 other bands; Bloodstained, Recall and a hard rock band called Pendejos.
11.Where do you see the band heading into musically during the future?
In underground of course. I really don't know what will happen in future, but I think our place is just right here, on the underground metal scene, this is where we belong from the beginning, Each of us has another profession for living, so we have no much time to focus on the bands, as much as we would like to, but, that's a life, playing music is our passion, fortunately we have a possibility to do that.
12.What are some of the bands or musical styles that have had an influence on your newer music and also what are you listening to nowadays?
I think influences are still the same, mostly black and thrash metal, bands like Dissection, Necrophobic, Desaster, old Kreator, Sodom and many more. Nowadays I'm totally crushed by new Destroyer 666 album, Stillborn and Ragehammer from Poland recorded killer stuff also, and I'm stilll waiting for new Desaster album.
