1. Can you give us an update on what is going on with the band these days?
Markus: Well, we are really happy that the new album has been released finally. It was a long journey with some obstacles but now we are here to present Every Sun Is Fragile to the music world.
2.How would you describe the musical sound of the new album and how it differs from previous releases?
We just wrote the music without thinking too much of how it would sound in the end. Now when listening to the final product I would that's it's a quite diverse album. Definately no easy listening music.
I think that there are connections to our back catalogue here and there. The typical Autumnblaze melancholy is omnipresent on Every Sun Is Fragile. But of course we are in 2013 and our sound is more mature and open-minded than on past releases.
3. You call your own musical style trip rock, can you tell us a little bit more about this label?
"Bleak" was stated as Trip Rock back in the day. After that we found that this kind of style really fits very well to our music. We understand our music as a kind of journey, a never-ending trip. That's the whole thing.
4. What are some of the lyrical topics and subjects the band explores with the music?
The lyrics are very personal again though you can also read them as timeless thoughts about the human existence.
Replace "sun" by "child" and you can understand the whole album. "Every Child Is Fragile" could have been a decent title too. There's a red thread through the lyrics, not a real story.
So when you listen to the music, read the lyrics. Then you will enter a new dimension of understanding... most likely.
5. What are some of the best shows that the band has played so far and how would you describe your stage performance/
Oh, we are not that kind of street band. We have toured some years ago with great acts like Oceansize, Antimatter or The 3rd And The Mortal. Amazing times for sure, but these days we have different priorities.
6. Do you have any touring or show plans for the future?
Sorry, we don't have any plans regarding this. Ok, if there was a really fantastic offer we would definately think about it but for now I say: no chance.
7.There has been a 4 year gap between the last album, what has been going on during that time?
Well, the gap is not that long when you know that Every Sun Is Fragile already was recorded in march 2012. We have started writing songs for this record back in 2010.
All of us have families and we are all working hard for our living. So the music has to wait sometimes. But be sure that music is in my heart each day.
8. On a worldwide level how has the feedback been to your newer music by fans of metal?
Right now the feedback is quite positive and we are really happy about this.
9.What direction do you see your music heading into on future releases?
We won't turn into techno or hiphop. That's quite sure. I have a lot of ideas for the next album. It depends on how we feel when it comes to the arranging process. Right now I would say that we are heading to a more compact sound with shorter songs and heart-breaking melodies. Everything can happen but you'll still hear the typical Autumnblaze vibes.
10. What are some bands or musical styles that have influenced your newer music and also what are you listening to nowadays?
Our new stuff is influenced by our experiences. I couldn't tell you a certain band that had an impact on our new record.
I'm listening to Sigur Ros, Arcade Fire, Amusement Parks On Fire, Magenta Skycode, My Vitriol, Ashes Divide and stuff like that...
11.Outside of music what are some of your interests/
Many interests. Just watched the second season of Sons Of Anarchy. Brilliant series with great music and an amazing plot. Also I read a lot of books, doing some sports and so on...
