Demonic Resurrection/Dashavatar/Demonstealer Records/2017 CD Review

Demonic  Resurrection  are  a  band  from  India  that  has  been  featured  before  in  this  zine  and  plays  an  epic  and  progressive  mixture  of  black  and  death  metal  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  2017  album  "Dashavatar"  which  will  be  released  in  March  by  Demonstealer  Records.

Spoken  word  parts  and  atmospheric  synths  start  off  the  album  and  a  few  seconds  later  India  style  folk  instruments  are  added  onto  the  recording  and  also  mix  in  with  the  heavier  material  while  the  solos  and  leads  are  done  in  a  very  melodic  and  progressive  style  and  the  vocals  are  mostly  death  metal  growls.

When  the  music  speeds  up  a  great  amount  of  blast  beats  can  be  heard  and  symphonic  elements  are  also  used  at  times  and  the songs  bring  in  a  great  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts  and  black  metal  screams  are  also  utilized  at  times  and  a  great  portion  of  the  tracks  are  very  long  and  epic  in  length  and  some  tracks  also  bring  in  a  small  amount  of  melodic  singing  along  with  a  brief  use  of  female  vocals  and  some  tracks  also  bring in  clean  guitars.

Demonic  Resurrection  creates  a  recording  that  continues  the  epic  and  progressive  mixture  of  black  and  death  metal  from  previous  recordings  while  also  mixing  in  elements  of  Indian  folk  music this  time  around  to  create  something  very  different,  the  production  sounds  very  professional  while  the  lyrics cover Indian,  Hindu  and  Vedic  Mythology.

In  my  opinion  this  is  another  great  sounding  recording  from  Demonic  Resurrection  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  epic  and  progressive  blackened  death  metal,  you  should  check  out  this  album.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Matsya  -  The  Fish"  "Vamana  -  The  Dwarf"  "Krisha  - The  Cowherd"  and  "Kalki  - The  Destroyer Of  Filth".  8  out  of  10.

Demonic Resurrection/The Return To Darkness/Candlelight Records/2010 CD Review

Demonic Resurrection are a band from India that plays a very symphonic form of black/death metal and this is a review of their 2010 album "The Return Of Darkness" which will be released by Candlelight Records.

Drums alternate between mid paced to fast drumming with some blast beats, while the keyboards have a very dark and symphonic sound to them, as for the bass playing it is mixed down low in the mix and seems to follow the riffs that are coming out of the guitars.

Rhythm guitars range from mid paced to fast riffing that is very melodic and has influences from black, death, thrash and power metal, while the lead guitars are very melodic sounding guitar solos that have a lot of talent and skill to them, as for the acoustic guitars when they are utilized, to bring an extra dimension of darkness to the music.

Vocals are mostly deep blackened death metal growls mixed in with some high pitched screams and some clean singing vocals that have a heavy power metal influence to them, while the lyrics cover dark themes, as for the production, it has a very powerful and professional sound to it.

In my opinion Demonic Resurrection are a very talented melodic/ symphonic/blackened death metal band and if you are a fan of this style, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Between Infinity And Oblivion" "The Warriors Return" "Lord Of Pestilence" and "Omega I". RECOMMENDED BUY.
