Saccage/Khaos Mortem/Music-Records/2020 CD Re-Issue Review

Montreal,  Quebec,  Canada's  Saccage  have  returned  with  a  new  recording  which  continues  their  mixture  of  black,  death,  thrash  metal  and  crust  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  2019  album  "Khaos  Mortem"  which  will  be  re-issued  in  September,  2020  by  Music-Records.

A  very  dark  and  heavy  sound  starts  off  the  album  while  all  of  the  musical  instruments  on  the  recording  also  have  a  very  powerful  sound  to  them.  Crust  style  growls  can  also  be  heard  in  some  parts  of  the  recording  along  with  the  music  also  mixing  in  a  great  amount  of  death  metal  elements.

When  the  music  speeds  up  a  great  amount  of  brutal  sounding  blast  beats  can  also  be  heard  while  also  mixing  in  a  lot  of  black  and  thrash  metal  influences.  When  guitar  solos  and  leads  are  utilized  they  are  also  done  in  a  very  old  school  metal/punk  style  as  well  as  some  d  beats  also  being  utilized  at  times.

Tremolo  picking  can  also  be  heard  in  some  of  the  fast  riffing  along  with  the  songs  also  adding  in  a  good  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts  as  well  as  the  riffing  also  adding  in  a  small  amount  of  melody  at  times  and  the  whole  album  also  always  sticks  to  a  heavier  musical  direction  and  they  also  bring  in  a  Nunsluaghter  cover.  The  production  sounds  very  professional  while  the  lyrics  are  written  in  French  and  cover  Occultism,  The  Writings  Of  H.P  Lovecraft,  Politics,  Violence  and  Alcohol  themes.

In  my  opinion  this  is  another  great  sounding  recording  from  Saccage  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  black,  death,  thrash  metal  and  crust ,  you  should  check  out  this  re-issue.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Dechirue" "Malsaint-Roch"  "Aversion  Oecumenique"  and  "La  kermesse  du  charnier".  8  out  of  10.

Quebec,  Canada's  Saccage  have  returned  with  a  new  recording  that  continues  their  black ,  death,  thrash  metal  and  crust  mixture  of previous  releases  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  2017  album  "Recidive"  which  was  released  by  PRC  Music.

A  very  heavy  sound  starts  off  the  album  and  when  the  music  speeds  up  a  great  amount  of  blast  beats  can  be  heard  while t he  vocals  are  a  mixture  of  black  metal  screams  and  death  metal  growls  and  you  can  also  hear  all  of  the  musical  instruments  that  are  present  on  the  recording  along  with  a  great  amount  of  crust  elements.

A  small  amount  of  melody  can  be  heard  in  the  guitar  riffing  while  back  up  shouts  and  thrash  influences  can  be  heard  quite  a  bit  throughout  the  recording  and  the  songs  also  bring  in  a  great  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts  and  only  a  small  amount  of  guitar  leads  are  ever  utilized  and  the  music  always  remains  heavy.

Saccage  creates  another  recording  that  remains  true  to  the  black,  death,  thrash  metal  and  crust  mixture  of  previous  releases,  the  production  sounds  very  professional  while  the  lyrics  are  written  in  French  and  cover  Evil,  Satanism,  Drugs,  Alcohol,  and  Anarchy  themes.

In  my  opinion  this  is  another  great  sounding  recording  from  Saccage  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  black, death,  thrash  metal  and  crust  punk,  you  should  check  out  this  album.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Recidive"  "Orgasmaniaque"  "666  Grammes"  and  "Pourceau  (de  Satan)".  8  out  of  10.

Saccage Interview

1.Can you give us an update on what has been going on with the band since the recording and release of the new ep?
We are writing our next LP right now and are preparing for a summer tour with many cool festival for the next 3 month.

2.A few months back you had released a new ep, how would you describe the musical sound that is presented on the recording and also how does it differ from the stuff you have released in the past?
This EP was logical following to our first LP. It was written shortly after DEATH CRUST SATANIQUE album. We just add more heavy distortion and this was the end of a chapter for us and the begining of new era for the band. VORACE is more mature, but is not far from what we did in the past.

3.What are some of the lyrical topics and subjects the band explores with the newer music?
EVIL, SEX, DRUGS AND ROCK N ROLL. SACCAGE is fucking destruction.

4.What is the meaning and inspiration behind the name 'Saccage'?
SACCAGE was created at  a after show when the bar was closing and everyone in the place was drunk as fuck. There was a Pantera song on the radio and everybody start to break table, beer bottle, stole alcohol, threw chair, you see the kind of party... SACCAGE mean pillage, destruction. That is exactly what we are creating with our music.

5.What are some of the best shows that the band has played over the years and also how would you describe your stage performance?
Every show from SACCAGE since the begining were a fucking mayhem. We are not playing too much show, we like to keep it exclusive and only bring the best to our fans. SACCAGE live is a threesome with two porn stars. Its brutal, intense and there is no love, only harsh sex just like in porn movies.

6.Where do you see the band heading into musically during the future?
Not too far from what we are doing right now. Just a little more technical, mature and always fucking face ripping music.

7.On a worldwide level how has the feedback been to your music by fans of underground metal and crust?
We have a big following worldwide, a lot of our release are distributed by underground distro everywhere. I'm always stocked to see people from everywhere in this filthy earth writing to us and asking us to play in their country... maybe one day!

8.What is going on with some of the other bands or musical projects these days that some of the band members are a part of?
Our drummer just left the Black Metal Act HAERES to focus on SACCAGE. We have two of our guys also in the blackened crust band NÉVROSE. check them out!

9.When can we expect another full length and also where do you see the band heading into musically during the future?
A more brutal album but still the intense Death/Crust/Black/Thrash that stick to us. We love what SACCAGE is and we dont want to change to much, musically but also in the lyrics.

10.What are some of the bands or musical styles that have had an influence on your newer music and also what are you listening to nowadays?
A lot of old school Death Metal, Black/Thrash, Crust/Grindcore. We like it old school and evil.

11.Does Satanism or Occultism play any role in your music?
Satanism for us is more a way to express the evil that we all have inside of us.
Society represent Satan as the ultimate evil, but for us there is no good or bad thing in life. Fuck off and die! Hail Satan.

12.What are some of your non musical interests?
Sex, beers, food, goons, musical gear.

13.Before we wrap up this interview, do you have any final words or thoughts?
Thanks for everything and the support. Cheers from the french canadian bastard of Québec, TABARNAK!

Saccage/Vorace/PRC Music/2015 CD Review

Saccage  are  a  band  from  Quebec,  Canada  that  plays  a  mixture  of  crust,  black,  death  and  thrash  metal  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  2015  album  "Vorace"  which  will  be  released  in  May  by  PRC  Music.

Spoken  word  samples  start  off  the  album  before  going  into  a  heavier  musical  direction  where  you  can  also  hear  all  of  the  instruments  that  are  present  on  this  recording  and  after  awhile  the  music  speeds  up  and  brings  in  blast  beats,  aggressive  screaming  vocals  and  back  up  gang  shouts  and  the  songs  also  bring  in  a  great  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts.

You  can  hear  a  lot  of  crust  and  d  beat  in  the  bands  musical  style  along  with  some  first  wave  black  metal  elements  that  are  done  in  a  more  modern  version  as  well  as  a  great  mixture  of  both  old  school  thrash  and  death  metal  influences  and  growls  can  also  be  heard  in  certain  sections  of  the  recording.  and  they  also  bring  in  a  few  live  tracks  and  the  album  sticks  to  a  heavy  musical  direction  from  beginning  to  end.

Saccage  plays  a  musical  style  that  takes  the  raw  energy  of  crust   punk  and  mixes  it  in  with  the  heaviness  of  black,  death  and  thrash  metal  to  create  a  sound  of  their  own,  the  production  sound s very  powerful  while  the  lyrics  are  written  in  French  and  cover  Evil,  Satanism,  Drugs,  Alcohol  and Anarchy  themes.

In  my  opinion  Saccage  are  a  very  great  sounding  mixture  of  crust,  black,  death  and  thrash  metal  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  those  musical  genres,  you  should  check  out  this  band.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Vorace"  and  "Rosserie".  8  out  of  10.
