Vorzug/Three/Apollyon Entertanment/2017 EP Review

  Vorzug  are  a  band  from  Arizona  that  has  been  featured  before  in  this  zine  and  plays  a  blackened  form  of  death  metal  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  2017  ep  "Threes"  which  was  released by  Apollyon  Entertainment.

  A  very  heavy  and  melodic  sound  starts  off  the  ep  along  with  a  mixture  of  black  metal  screams  and  death  metal  growls  a  few  seconds  later  and  all  of  the  musical  instruments  have  a  very  powerful  sound  to  them  while  the  solos  and  leads  also  use  a  great  amount  of  traditional  metal  style  melodies.

  Elements  of  thrash  can  be  hear d in  some  of  the  guitar  riffing  and  you  can  also  hear  all  of the  musical  instruments  that  are  present  on  this  recording  while  the  songs  stick  to  either  a  slow  or  mid  paced  musical  direction.

  Vorzug  creates  another  recording  that  remains  true  to  the  blackened  death  metal  style  of  previous  releases  while  also  getting  more  melodic,  the  production  sounds  very  professional  while  the  lyrics    cover  dark  themes.

  In  my  opinion  Vorzug  are  a  very  great  sounding  blackened  death  metal  band  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  this  musical  genre,  you  should  check  out  this  ep.   RECOMMENDED  TRACK  "Under  A  Dying  Sun".  8  out  of  10.

Vorzug/Call Of TheVultures/Apollyon Entertainment/2015 CD Review

  Vorzug  are  a  band  from  Arizona  that  plays  a  blackened  form  of  death  metal  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  2015  album  "Call  Of  The  Vultures"  which  will  be  released  in  July  by  Apollyon Entertainment.

  A  very  dark  and  melodic  guitar  lead  starts  off  the  album  and  after  a  minute  the  music  goes  into  a  fast  black  metal  direction  along  with  a  great  amount  of  blast  beats  before  adding  in  death  metal  growls  and  the  songs  also  bring  in  a  great  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts  and  you  can  also  hear  all  of  the  musical  instruments  that  are  present  on  the  recording.

  A  great  amount  of  melody  can  be  heard  in  the  guitar  riffing  and  grim  black  metal  screams  can  be  heard  in  some  parts  of  the  songs  and  some  of  the  faster  sections  bring  in  a  small  amount  of  d  beats  while  some  songs  are  very  heavily  influenced  by  old  school  death  metal  and  the  whole  album  sticks  to  a  heavy  musical  direction.

  Vorzug  continues  the  blackened  death  metal  sound  of  previous  recordings  and  also  mix  the  old  school  and  modern  sides  of  extreme  metal  together  to  create  a  very  heavy  sounding  album,  the  production  sounds  very  professional  while  the  lyrics  cover  dark  and  violent  themes.

  In  my  opinion  this  is  another  great  sounding  recording  from  Vorzug  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  blackened  death  metal,  you  should  check  out  this  album.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "At  Winters  End"  "I  Am  In  Hell"  "The  Howling"  and  "Broken  Dreams".  8  out  of  10.

Vorzug/I Am In Hell/Apollyon Entertainment/2014 CD Review

  Vorzug  are  a  band  from  Arizona  that  consists  of  band  members  from  a  few  legendary  death  and  black  metal  bands  from  that  state  and  play  a  mixture  of  brutal  death,  gore,  black  and  thrash  metal  with  this  project  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  2014  single  "I  Am  In  Hell"  which  will  be  released  at  the  end  of  August  by  Apollyon  Entertainment.

  A  very  dark  and  heavy  sound  starts  off  the  song  along  with  some  melodic  guitar  lead  which  leads  up  to  an  old  school  death  metal  direction  along  with  some  growls  and  then  the  song  starts  adding  in  more  black  metal  screams  and  melodic  riffing  while  also  keeping  around  the  death  metal  traces  and  you  can  hear  all  of  the  musical  instruments  on  the  track.

  With  this  track  Vorzug  display  more  of  an  old  school  death/black  metal  sound  and  I  would  like  to  hear  what  the  album  has  to  offer  once  it  is  released,  the  production  sounds  very  powerful  while  the  lyrics  cover  dark  and  occult  themes.

  In  my  opinion  Vorzug  are  a  very  great  sounding  blackened  death  metal  band  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  this  musical  genre,  you  should  check  out  this  single.  8  out  of  10.
