Antania/3AM 666/2025 Full Length Review

 

  California's  Antania  have  returned  with  a  new  recording  which  shows  the  music  going  for  an  experimental  mixture  of  black,  doom, death  metal  and  industrial  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  self  released  2025  album  "3AM  666".

  Spoken  word  samples  start  off  the  album  along  with  some  industrial  elements  and  hard  bass  sounds  which  also  mixes  in  with  the  heavier  sections  of  the  songs  at  times.  Synths  are  also  utilized  quite  a  bit  throughout  the  recording  while  the  vocals  bring  in  a  mixture  of  black  metal  screams  and  death  emtal  growls.

  Influences  of  doom  metal  are  also  added  into  the  slower  sections  of  the  songs  while  blast  beats  are  also  added  when  the  music  speeds  up  briefly.  At  times  the  music  also  gets  very  experimental  sounding  along  with  all  of  the  drum  beats  also  being  programmed,  all  of  the  musical  instruments  also  have  a  very  powerful  sound  to  them  as  well  as  one  track  also  being  an  instrumental.  

  On  this  recording  Antania  takes  black,  doom,  death  metal,  industrial,  experimental  and  bass  music  and  mixes  them  together  to  create  a  very  diverse  recording.  The  production  sounds  very  professional  while  the  lyrics  cover  Satanism,  Darkness  and  Serial  Killers.

  In  my  opinion  this  is  another  great  sounding  album  from  Antania  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  black,  doom,  death  metal,  industrial,  experimental  and  bass  music,  you  should  check  out  this  recording.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Sewn"  "BloodLove"  and  "Dahmer".  8  out  of  10.

Antania/The God Complex/The Triad Records/2024 Full Length Review

 

  Antania  are  a  band  from  Joshua  Tree,  California  that  has  had  music  reviewed  before  in  this  zine  and  plays  a  mixture  of  mixture  of  black,  doom  metal,  industrial  and  electronica  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  2024  album  "The  god  Complex"  which  was  released  by  The  Triad  Records.

  Synths  start  off  the  album  and  also  mixes  in  with  the  heavier  sections  of  the  songs  at  times  while t he  vocals  are  mostly  black  metal  screams.  Bass  guitars  are  utilized  as  a  lead  instrument  on  the  recording  while  the  music  also  brings  in  a  lot  of  industrial  elements  and  when t he  music  speeds  up  a  decent  amount  of  blast  beats  can  be  heard.

  The  slower  sections  of  the  songs  are  also  very  heavily  rooted  in  doom  metal  while  the  music  also  mixes  in  a  lot  of  electronica  touches.  A  couple  of  the  tracks  also  add  in  a  good  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts  along  with  recording  also  adding  in  a  small  amount  of  spoken  word  parts  and  samples  

  On  this  recording  Antania  takes  black,  doom  metal,  industrial  and  electronica  and  mixes  them  together  to  create  a  very  diverse  album.  The  production  sounds  very  professional  while  the  lyrics  cover  Darkness,  Murder  and  Anti  Religion  themes.

Antania/Lividity/2023 Full length Review

 

  Antania  are  a  music  project  from  Joshua  Tree,  California  that  plays  a  mixture  of  black,  doom  metal,  industrial  and  electronica  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  self  released  2023  album  "Lividity".

  Spoken  word  parts  and  electro  industrial  sounds  start  off  the  album  before  adding  in  some  brutal  sounding  blast b eats.  Elements  of  doom  metal  can  also b e  heard  in  the  slower  sections  of  the  recording  while  the  songs  also  add  in  a  lot  of  samples  and  synths  are  also  a  very  huge  part  of  the  recording.

  At  times  the  music  also  captures  the  heaviness  of  black  metal  while  also  adding  in  a  lot  of  distortion  guitar  pedals.  Most  of  the  vocals  are  also  done  in  a  very  aggressive  style  along  with  the  songs  also  adding  in  a  lot  of  bass  and  some  of  the  tracks  also  add  in  a  good  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts.

  Antania  plays  a  musical  style  that  takes  black,  doom  metal,  industrial  and  electronica  and  mixes  them  together  to  create  a  sound  of  their  own.  The  production  sounds  vey  professional  while  the  lyrics  cover  murder  and  violence  from  real  life  events.

  In  my  opinion  Antania  are  a  very  great  sounding  mixture  of  black,  doom  metal,  industrial  and electronica  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  those  musical  genres,  you  should   check  out  this  project.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Angels  And  Demons"  "Hello  Gloomsday"  and  "Science  Of  Murder".  8 out  of  10.
