Celesterre/Horror And Hope/2025 Full Length Review

 

  Netherland's  Celesterre  have  returned  with  a  new  recording  which  shows  the  music  going  for  an  epic  mixture  of  black,  doom  and  heavy  metal  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  self  released  2025  album  "Horror  And  Hope".

  Spoken  words  start  off  the  album  along  with  some  drum  beats  and  psychedelic  sounds  a  few  seconds  later  which  also  takes  the  music  into  a  heavier  direction.  Elements  of  doom  metal  are  also  added  into  the  slower  sections  of  the  songs  and  the  solos  and  leads  bring  in  more  of  a melodic  traditional  metal  style.

  All  of  the  musical  instruments  on  the  recording  also  have  a  very  powerful  sound  to  them  while  the  faster  sections  of  the  songs  also  add  in  black  metal  style  tremolo  picking  and  blast  beats.  Vocals  are  done  in  more  of  a  clear  singing  style  mixed  in  with  a  few  shouts  and  the  riffs  also  add  in  a  decent  amount  of  melody.

  Throughout  the  recording  you  can  also  hear  a  good  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts  along  with  some  female  vocals  also  being  utilized  on  a  few  tracks.  One  song  also  adds  in  a  brief  use  of  pig  squeals  as  well  as  one  track  also  intro0ducing  clean  playing  onto  the  album, mellotron's  can  also  be  heard  briefly  and  the  music  also  has  its  atmospheric  and  progressive  moments.  The  production  sounds  very  professional  while  the  lyrics  cover  the  environment  crises  that  is  facing  our  planet.

  In  my  opinion  this  is  another  great  sounding  album  from  Celesterre  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  black,  epic  doom  and  heavy  metal,  you  should  check  out  this  recording.  TRCOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Man  Divine" "As  The  Giant  Falls"  and  "Hope".  8  out  of  10.

Celesterre/Earth pt.I/2020 EP Review

  Celesterre  are  a  band  from  the  Netherlands  that  has  had  music  reviewed  before  in  this  zine  and  plays  an  epic  mixture  of  black,  doom  and  heavy  metal  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  self  released  2020  ep  "Earth  pt.  I".

  A  very  dark,  heavy  and  epic  sound  starts  off  the  ep  along  with  some  clean  vocals  a  few  seconds  later.  Elements  of  doom  metal  can  also  be  heard  in  the  slower  sections  of  the  songs  while  all  of  the  musical  instruments  on  the  recording  also have  a  very  powerful  sound  to  them.

  When  guitar  solos  and  leads  are  utilized  they  are  done  in  a  very  melodic  and  traditional  metal  style.  Black  metal  screams  are  also  added  into  some  parts  of  the  music  along  with  some  spoken  words  also  being  used  briefly  as  well  as  the  music  also  adding  in  a  decent  amount  of  70's  and  80's  influences

 Acoustic  guitars   can  also  be  heard  on  a  couple  of  the  tracks  which  also  introduces  blast  beats  onto  the  recording  but  keeping  the  main  focus  on  more  of  a  slow  or  mid  tempo  direction,  one  track  also  adds  in  a  small  amount  of  chants.  The  production  sounds  very  professional  while  the  lyrics  cover  a  different  ecosystem  with  each  song.

  In  my  opinion  this  is  another  great  sounding  recording  from  Celesterre  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  black,  doom,  epic  and  heavy  metal,  you  should  check  out  this  ep.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Oceans"  and  "Forests".  8  out  of  19,

Celesterre/The Wild/Rain Without End Records/2017 CD Review

  Celesterre  are  a  band  from  the  Netherlands  that  plays  a  progressive  and  epic  mixture  of  heavy,  doom,  and  black  metal  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  2017  album  "The  Wild"  which  was  released  by  Rain  Without  End  Records.

  Melodic  yet  heavy  doom  metal  riffs  start  off  the  album  along  with  some  touches  of  70's  traditional  metal  and  the  solos  and  leads  also  stick  to  a  very  old  school  style  while  the  vocals  start  off  in  a  more  clean  style  and  you  can  also  hear  all  of  the  musical  instruments  that  are  present  on  the  recording.

  Clean  playing  along  with  a  small  amount  of  acoustic  guitars  can  also  be  heard  in  certain  sections  of  the  recording  while  synths  are  also  used  at  times  and  one  track  also  adds  in  a  small  amount  of  spoken  word  parts  along  with  a  brief  use  of  female  vocals  and  when  the  music  speeds  up  a  decent  amount  of  tremolo picking  and  blast  beats  can  be  heard  and  they  also  add  in  elements  of  black  metal  and  also  adding  in  a  brief  use  of  high  pitched  screams  and  the  last  track  is  very  long  and  epic  in  length  and  also  adds  in  a  few  seconds  of  growls.


  Celesterre  plays  a  musical  style  that  is  mostly  rooted  in  traditional  doom  and  heavy  metal  while  also  mixing  in  some  progressive  and  black  metal  elements  to  create  something  very  original,  the  production  sounds  very  professional  while  the  lyrics  cover  Nature  themes.

  In  my  opinion  Celesterre  are  a  very  great  sounding  progressive  mixture  of  heavy,  doom,  and  black  metal  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  those  musical  genres,  you  should  check  out  this  band.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Burst  Into  Life"  "The  Wild"  and  "A  Celebration  Of  Decay".  8  out  of  10.
