Infesticide/In Obscurity Revealed/Blood Harvest Records/2021 Split EP Review

This  is  a  review  of  a  split  ep  between  Mexico's  Infesticide  and  In  Obscurity  Revealed  which  will  be  released  on  August  27th  by  Blood  Harvest  Records  and  we  will  start  off  the  review  with  Infesticide  who  return  with  their  blackened  style  of  death  metal.

Their  side  of  the  split  starts  out  with  dark,  evil  yet  melodic  guitar  solos  and  leads  along  with  some  heavy  riffing a   few  seconds  later.  All  of  the  musical  instruments  also  have  a  very  powerful  sound  to  them  while  tremolo  picking  is  also  added  into  some  of  the  riffing  and  when  the  music  speeds  up  a  decent  amount  of  blast  beats  can  be  heard.

Vocals are  done  in  a  mid  80's  death  metal  style  along  with  some  blackened  touches  as  well  as  the  songs  also  adding  in  a  decent  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts  and  all  of  the  music  sticks  to  a heavier  direction  as  well  as  the  riffing  also  adding  in  a  small  amount  of  melody.  The  production  sounds  very  dark  and  heavy  while  the  lyrics  cover  violence,  death,  gore  and  chaos  themes.

In  my  opinion  this  is  another  great  sounding  recording  from  Infesticide  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  blackened  death  metal,  you  should  check  out  their  side  of  the  split.  RECOMMENDED  TRACK  "Blackfire  Permeate".

Next  up  is  In  Obscurity  Revealed  who  return  with  their  blackened  style  of  death  emtal.

Their  side  of  the  split  starts  out  with  some  horror  samples  before  adding  in  some  dark  yet  melodic  riffing  which  also  takes  the  music  more  into  a  brutal  direction.   When  the  music  speeds  up  a  great  amount  of  blast  beats  can  be  heard  while  the  vocals  are  mostly  death  metal  growls  and  elements  of  black  metal  are  also  utilized  at  times.

Most  of  the  music  is  also  very  heavily  rooted  in  the  early  90's  era  along  with  the  songs  also  adding  in a   decent  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts  as  well  as  all  of  the  musical  instruments  also  having  a  very  powerful  sound  to  them.  The  production  sounds  very  dark  and  heavy  while  the  lyrics  cover  death,  chaos  and  occultism  themes.

In  my  opinion  this  is  another  great  sounding  recording  from  In  Obscurity  Revealed  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  blackened  death  emtal,  you  should  check  out  their  side  of  the  split.  RECOMMENDED  TRACK  "Under  The  Vomit  Seal".

In  conclusion  I  feel  this  is  a  very  great  sounding  split  and  i  would  recommend  it  to  all  fans  of  blackened  death  metal.

In Obscurity Revealed/Glorious Impurity/Blood Harvest Records/2019 CD Review

In  Obscurity  Revealed  are  a  band  from  Mexico  that  has  had  music  reviewed  before  in  this  zine  and  plays  a  blackened  form  of  death  metal  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  2019  album  "Glorious  Impurity"  which  will  be  released  in  December  by  Blood  Harvest  Records.

A  very  dark,  heavy  and  brutal  sound  starts  off  the  album  while  the  faster  sections  of  the  songs  also  bring  in  a  great  amount  of  blast  beats  along  with  the  riffing  also  adding  in  a  decent  amount  of  evil  sounding  melodies.  When  guitar  solos  and  leads  are  utilized  they  are  done  in  a  very  old  school  yet  chaotic  style.

The  vocals  bring  in a   great  amount  of  blackened  screams  while  the  music  also  mixes  in  a  great  amount  of  death  metal  elements  as  well  as  adding  in  a  great  amount  of  90's  influences.  Throughout  the  recording  you  can  also  hear  a  decent  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts,

Tremolo  picking  can  also  be  heard  in  some  of  the  faster  riffing  as  well  as  one  track  also  mixing  a  small  amount  of  clean  playing  into  the  heavier  sections  of  the  music and  a  lot  of  the  songs  also  sound  like  they  could  of  easily  been  recorded  and  released  more  than  20  years  ago.  The  production  sounds  very  old  school  while  the  lyrics  cover  Death,  Chaos  and  Occultism  themes.

In  my  opinion  this  is  another  great  sounding  recording  from  In  Obscurity  Revealed  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  blackened  death  metal,  you  should  check  out  this  album.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Coven  Maleficia"  "Thy  Temple  Fire"  "Pestilent  Breath"  and  "Closing  Victory".  8  out  of  10.

In Obscurity Revealed/Grim Fumes of Revelation/Blood Harvest/2016 7 Inch Review

In  Obscurity  Revealed  are  a  band  from  Mexico  that  started  out  playing  more of  a  traditional  form  of  death  metal  but  have  evolved  into  more  of  a  blackened  death  metal  band  on this release  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  2016 ep  "Grim  Fumes  Of  Revelation" which  will  be  released in  September  by  Blood  Harvest.

A  very  dark  yet  distorted  guitar sound  starts  off  the  album  along  with  some  night  sounds  in the  background  and  the  riffs  also  bring  in  a  small  amount  of  melody  and  when  the  music  speeds  up  a  great amount  of  tremolo  picking  and  blast  beats  can be  heard  and  after  awhile grim  black  metal  screams  are added  onto  the  recording.

A  great  amount  of  early  90's  death  metal  elements  can  be  heard  in  the  songs  and  the  music  also  brings  in  a  great  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts  and  all  of  the  musical  instruments  have  a  very  powerful  sound  to  them  and  both  of  the  tracks  remain  true  to  a  very  dark  and  heavy  sound  throughout  the  recording.

In  Obscurity  Revealed  expand  on  the  old  school  death  metal  sound  of  previous  recordings  while  also taking  the  vocals  into  more  of  a  black  metal  direction,  the  production  sounds  very  old  school  while  the  lyrics  cover  death,  chaos  and  Occultism  themes.

In  my  opinion  this  is  another  great  sounding  recording  from In  Obscurity  Revealed  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  blackened  death  metal,  you  should  check  out this  ep.  RECOMMENDED  TRACK  "Varcolaci".  8  out  of  10.
