Ares Kingdom are a band from Kansas City, Missouri that plays a blackened mixture of death and thrash metal and this is a review of their 2019 album "By The Light Of Their Destruction" which was released by Nuclear War Now! Productions.
War orientated soundscapes start off the album before going into more of a heavier musical direction. During the faster sections of the songs a great amount of blast beats can also be heard while the riffs also add in a decent amount of melody and the vocals bring in more of a mid 80's death/thrash metal style.
Black metal screams and death metal growls can also be heard in some parts of the music and while the songs are heavily rooted in the 80's and 90's it still captures a modern day brutality. Throughout the recording you can also hear a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts.
When guitar solos and leads are utilized they are done in a very chaotic and old school extreme metal style. As the album progresses a brief use of spoken word parts can also be heard and the music always sticks to a heavier musical direction. The production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover Warfare, History, Ancient Gods and Their Myths And Symbols.
In my opinion Ares Kingdom are a very great sounding blackened mixture of death and thrash metal and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Thy Hydra Void" "Eighteen Degrees Beneath" and "Tails Chimera Est". 8 out of 10.
