This is a review of a split ep between United Kingdom's Razor Forge and Greece's Chaoshorde which was released by Vicious Witch Records and we will start off the review with Razor Forge a solo project that plays a mixture of black, thrash, speed and heavy metal.
His side of the split starts out with some NWOBHM inspired riffing while the solos and leads are also done in a very melodic style. Vocals are done in a semi melodic thrash metal style along with the music also adding in elements of first wave black and speed metal as well as the song being heavily rooted in the 80's era as well as the solos and leads also bringing in a lot of melodies. The production sounds very old school while the lyrics cover metal themes.
In my opinion Razor Forge are a very great sounding mixture of black, thrash, speed and heavy metal and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this solo project.
Next up is Chaoshorde a duo that plays a mixture of black, thrash and speed metal.
Their side of the split starts out with a very dark yet heavy sound along with some grim sounding black metal screams a few seconds later. When the music speeds up a decent amount of blast beats can also b e heard while the music also adds in a great amount of 80's era first wave, thrash and speed metal elements, melodies can also be heard in some of the riffing and the solos and leads also stick to an old school style. The production sounds very dark and heavy while the lyrics cover war themes.
In my opinion Chaoshorde are a very great sounding mixture of black, thrash and speed metal and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this duo.
In conclusion I feel this is a very great sounding split and i would recommend it to all fans of black, thrash and speed metal.
