Imperathron are a band from Chile that plays a blackened form of death metal with elements of doom metal and this is a review of their 2022 album "Mors Est Veritas" which will be released in August by Vargheist Records.
Dark soundscapes start off the album before going into a heavier direction while dark sounding melodies are also added into some of the guitar riffing. When the music speeds up a great amount of brutal blast b eats can be heard along with the vocals being mostly death metal growls and black metal screams can also be heard at times.
Elements of doom/death metal can also be heard in the slower sections of the songs while the album also brings in a decent mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts. Tremolo picking can also be heard in some of the faster riffing along with all of the musical instruments on the recording also having a very powerful sound to them as well as the guitar leads also being done in a very dark yet melodic style when they are utilized.
Imperathron plays a style of blackened death emtal that is very aggressive and brutal sounding as well as mixing in elements of doom metal to create a sound of their own. The production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover war, stoicism and death themes.
In my opinion Imperathron are a very great sounding blackened death metal band with elements of doom metal and if you are a fan of t hose musical genres, you should check out this recording. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "The Human Must Be overcome" and "Mercy For The Despicable". 8 out of 10.
