Thrashera are a band from Brazil that has had music reviewed before in this zine and plays a very 80's and retro orientated mixture of black and thrash metal and this is a review of their 2022 album "Bastardos de Noite" which will b e released on July 20th by Helldprod Records.
A very apocalyptic sounding intro starts off the album along with a brief use of spoken word parts and keyboards a few seconds later before going into a heavier direction. Elements of thrash metal can also be heard quite a bit throughout the recording while the faster sections of the songs also add in a decent amount of blast beats.
Vocals are mostly first wave black metal screams with a touch of early death metal growling while the music is also very heavily rooted in the 80's South American style. When guitar solos and leads are utilized they also remain very true to an old school extreme metal direction along with all of the musical instruments on the album also having a very powerful sound to them.
Evil sounding laughter can also be heard briefly along with one song also adding in a brief use of spoken word parts as well as a lot of the music sounding like it could of easily been recorded and released more than 30 years ago. The production sounds very old school while the lyrics are written in Portuguese and cover metal and darkness themes.
In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from Thrashera and if you are a fan of first wave black and thrash metal, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUD E "Bastardos da Noite" "A Dona da Noite de Metal" and "Bandeira Negra". 8 out of 10.
