Spiter are a band from Pennsylvania that plays a mixture of black, thrash metal and hardcore punk with some touches deathrock and this is a review of their 2022 album "Bathe The Babe In Bats' Blood" which was released by Hells Headbangers Records.
Horror movie style organs start off the album along with a brief use of spoken word parts before going into a heavier musical direction. All of the musical instruments on the recording also have a very powerful sound to them while the faster sections of the songs also bring in a great amount of blast beats.
Vocals are mostly high pitched black metal screams while the music also brings in a great amount of thrash metal and hardcore punk elements. Tremolo picking can also be heard in some of the faster riffing along with the solos and leads also bringing in more of an 80's metal/punk style when they are utilized, when clear vocals are utilized they also add in a touch of deathrock and a more punk orientated style of vocal can also be heard at times and small amount of melody is also added into some of the guitar riffing.
Spiter plays a musical style that takes black, thrash and hardcore punk and mixes it with touches of deathrock to create a sound of t heir own. The production sounds very dark and heavy while the lyrics cover Satanism, Vampirism, Anti Christianity, Horror and Debauchery themes.
In my opinion Spiter are a very great sounding mixture of black, thrash metal, hardcore punk and deathrock and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Suicide Blood Fucker" "Transylvanian Night" "Full Satanic Power" and "Spider Biter". 8 out of 10.
