Ischemic are a band from Toronto, Ontario, Canada that plays a blackened mixture of doom and death metal and this is a review of their self released 2024 album "Condemned To The Breaking Wheel" which will be released in April.
A very dark, heavy and brutal sound starts off the album while the faster sections of the songs also add in a decent amount of blast b eats. The slower sections of the recording also bring in elements of doom metal along with the vocals being a mixture of black metal screams and death metal growls.
All of the tracks are also very long and epic in length while dark sounding melodies can also be heard in some of the guitar riffing. Throughout the recording you can also hear a good mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts along with the music also adding in a good balance between old school and modern influences, when guitar solos and leads are utilized they are also done in a very melodic style
Ischemic plays a musical style that takes black, doom and death metal and mixes them together to create a sound of their own. The production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover bleakness, gloom and melancholy themes.
In my opinion Ischemic are a very great sounding blackened mixture of doom and death metal and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Condemned To The Breaking Wheel" and "Abandon". 8 out of 10.
