LLVME/Yia De Nuesu/My Kingdom Music/2012 CD Review

  LLVME are a band from Spain that plays a mixture of atmospheric doom and black metal mixed in with Leonese folk music and this is a review of their 2012 album "Yia Nuesu" which was released by My Kingdom Music.

Drums range from slow to mid paced drumming with not much in the way of dast playing or blast beats ,while the keyboards bring in a very dark and atmospheric sound to the music mixed in with some Celtic violins and bagpipes that bring in a very ancient sounding medievel pagan folk music sound, as for the bass playing it has a very dark tone with riffs that follow the riffing that is coming out of the guitars.

Rhythm guitars range from slow to mid paced riffs that combines elements of black, death and doom metal together with a great amount of dark sounding melodies being thrown into the music while the lead guitars are very melodic sounding Celtic/Doom Metal guitar solos and leads, as for the acoustic guitars which are only utilized briefly they use finger picking that brings in a progressive rock feeling to enhance the darkness of the music.

Vocals are a mixture of deep death metal growls, high pitched black metal screams , male and female clean singing, while the lyrics are written in Leonese and cover the Pagan themes from that culture, as for the production it has a very strong, heavy and power sound to it.

In my opinion LLVME are a very great sounding doom/black/death/folk metal hybrid and if you are a fan of this style, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Helmantica" "Yia Fatu A Tierra" "Pramoseu" and "Mirobriga". RECOMMENDED BUY.

Sectorial Interview

1. Can you tell us a little bit about the band for those that have never heard of you before?
Greetings to readers! Band lives for almost 10 years. This is the only serious one, we have ever played in. Ivan (Vocal, native instruments) and Igor (drums) and other 2 guys was a classmates, so they were standing at the origins of what we do now. After some time Dmitriy (guitar, vocal) connected to the band and the last brick in our foundation was Boris (bass, vocal). Because of many reasons we managed to release 3 EP albums and 1 LP, but have played hundred of gigs all over Ukraine and Russia. But those reasons have made us much more stronger then we would like to be)). So hard work at ourselves and plenty of obstacles are not last points in the establishment of the band ideology.

2. How would you describe your musical sound?

There is big difference in how we see our sound and how people see it. Igor: I would like to give everything to hear my and the whole band playing from aside. So we make a audio & video recording of each gig or important rehearsal and try to look at our work from aside. It’s good for excluding the mistakes too. Try, it really helps. As for style frames we should say that we are not critics, so don`t want to take their job)). We do all we like and no matter how it’s called. You can find grind, crust, thrash, hardcore, black and death metal, etc. in a combination with our native folk so it was hard to write tags to our new release. We have very critical attitude to the track production and if we would think about style, genre or something we will go crazy for sure. The main thing is - if new shit truly rocks me - I will rock you. No false, it works.

3. What are some of the lyrical topics and subjects the band explores with the music?

People are in rights to make own decisions. These perverted decisions are subjects and reasons for our music mostly. World is full of shit and sweets - we can see it and enjoy or moan with closed eyes. Mankind is not a crown of nature; we all have too much work to do. We are not teachers or accusing one`s but if someone will be motivated to improve himself by our deeds it would be "epic win" for us totally.

4. What is the meaning and inspiration behind the band’s name?

Sectorial - is a containing part of any whole one, like microcosm in Macrocosm. In our band each member is separate unit, another world and our band`s deeds combine them into something really native for us. Maybe in other case we would never be friends but music and all what we do together makes some kind of family. From tiny split to big happiness - all is in Sectorial`s ethos.

5. What are some of the best shows that the band has played so far and how would you describe your stage performance?

Igor: Actually I don`t divide into the best or worst show. Anyway after the show, when everything is over, emotions and energy are being sorbet by your body and mind, you are driving home with one only thing. It`s experience. The only one thing which differ true musician from a pretender. As for me when you have some unexplained connection with a fans - that`s a good show, other shit is technical moments.

6. Do you have any touring plans for the new release?

Sure, our first LP are ready to see the world. We have confirmed about 10 gigs all over Ukraine and other is TBA at the moment. But I know that it would be Russia, maybe Belorussia. As for Europe - we don`t have any direct relationships with booking managers. But we`ve made anything that depends on us - own big bus, totally equipped road backline and possibility for crossing a borders. 7. On a worldwide level how has your music been received by underground metal fans worldwide?

Without any kind of epic, there is a rule - any new club we played in soon send us an invitation or we have some other possibilities to come back there and our new friends there are happy. We are well known as a live band, so the last LP was only an attempt to bring all energy of the live show to CD. Hope it will become a good tradition for the next visiting of new place. As for audio - many people like the way we use native instruments in hard music. We think that everyone may find his own in our works, question is - does he really need it now? We even have a fan in friends; he is Aghori prophet and live in Spain. His "religion" seems quite strange for many peoples, but we don`t care. His name is Bhairavananda and he really enjoyed our stuff. So the first single "Too Much?" before LP "E.A.R.T.H." is Aghori meditation soundtrack now. People get in touch with our audio and video on popular social networks, YouTube mostly. We have official band site www.sectorialband.com under construction at the moment.

8. Currently you are signed to Metal Scrap Records; how did you get in
contact with this label and how would you describe the support that they
have given you so far?
Our good friends from Crusher band have already released their debut work with Metal Scrap. So as we decided to make a common tour with them the decision came quick. Situation with music promotion is not simple today, no serious business on that - no serious propositions. All is kept by people who love this and believe in what they do. Label`s support is on high level, everything goes clear and distinctly. It`s really important, no matter what you do. We keep contact with Anatoliy and have a best regards for him. So our music and merch will be available for underground metal fans worldwide thanks to Anatoliy and Metal Scrap Records.

9. Are there any other projects besides this band or is this full time line up?

No, there are no other projects. Sure some of us have helped some bands, but it was totally trial playing. We like to jam and it’s enough for us.

10. What direction do you see your music heading into on future releases?

Its hard question. The clearest answer is - we don`t know))). Sure it would be hard and fast tempo energetic and atmospheric music, but we can`t outline any frames of it now. As we`ve spoken before - if we will be rocked by own stuff and will believe in it we will surely rock our fans. Genre direction is important but not so as the true portray that comes from the inside.

11. What are some bands or musical styles that have influenced your music and also what are you listening to nowadays?

Our music tastes are very wide. From new age and classics to hard stuff we don`t have any icons. There are too many bands with good music to enumerate. In different time some of them made influence on our music and some of them were passing by.

12. Does Satanism or Occultism play any role in the music?

No, we leave it to people who have more time for this. For the rest we have created track "Religion - Business". It`s fun to look at the bands with all of this "pure evil" symbols. Those who really deal with this are doing real things.

13. Outside of music what are some of your interests?

Needless to say that the music doesn`t feed us. So Ivan and Igor work at music company, selling all kind of music instruments and equipment. Boris is raising IT-stuff in international IT-company. And Dmitriy in several months will finish his studying for sociologist. Igor: as for me my interests outside of music is closely related to the music. I love drums, fixing, tuning and watching. I love big cars so they can transport a lot of my drums and so on. There was a time when I was sleeping for 4-5 hours and the rest time was working or playing. Great moments! Ivan: in some cases so do I. I find myself in self doing and playing on native instruments. Like to lift my body and press up for better feeling yourself. Anyway we have some thin clue which unites each member and band ideology in whole. It`s self-evolution. We think that a man is a man only when he is going to the point. Motion defines our consciousness. When you don`t make any moves you are not standing at one place, your losing, falling as time goes quick.

14. Any final words or thoughts before we wrap up this interview?

Fisthammer/Devour All To See/Hore Pain Gore Death Productions/2012 CD Review

  Fisthammer are a band from Philadelphia that plays a very technical, brutal and melodic form of blackened death metal and this is a review of their 2012 album "Devour All To See" which was released by Hore Pain Gore Productions.

Drums range from slow, mid paced to fast drumming with a good amount of blast beats being thrown into the music, while the bass playing has a very strong and powerful sound with riffs that dominate throughout the recording.

Rhythm guitars range from slow, mid paced to fast riffs that combine brutal technical death metal with blackened death metal mixed in with a good amount of melody while the lead guitars are very technical and melodic sounding death metal guitar solos and leads that utilize a great amount of talent and skill, as for the acoustic guitars which are only utilized briefly they use finger picking to enhance the darkness of the music.

Vocals are mostly deep death metal growls mixed in with some high pitched blackened death metal screams, while the lyrics cover Egyptian, Mythology and Apocalyptic themes, as for the production it has a very strong, heavy, powerful and professional sound to it.

In my opinion Fisthammer are a very great sounding technical and brutal blackened death metal band and if you are a fan of this style, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Aten: Fear The Obliteration Of Earth" "Kull The Conqueror" "Doom Of The Gods" and "The Ressurection Of Bastet The Destroyer". RECOMMENDED BUY.

Aura Noir/Out To Die/Indie Recordings/2012 CD Review

  Aura Noir are a band from Norway that has been around since the 90's with the band members being established veterans in many bands out there that play a mixture of black and thrash metal and this is a review of their 2012 album "Out To Die" which was released by Indie Recordings.

Drums range from slow, mid paced to fast drumming with a great amount of blast beats being thrown into the music, while the bass playing has a very dark tone with riffs that follow the riffing that is coming out of the guitars.

Rhythm guitars range from slow, mid paced to fast riffs that combine black metal and thrash together while the lead guitars are very chaotic sounding guitar solos and leads in the mid 80's/early 90's tradition.

Vocals are a mixture of black metal and blackened thrash screams and growls, while the lyrics cover dark, hateful, satanic and anti religion themes, as for the production it has a very dark, heavy, raw and primitive sound.

In my opinion this is another great album from Aura Noir and if you where a fan of their previous recordings, you should enjoy this album as well. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Trenches" "Abbadon" and "Priest's Hellish Fiend". RECOMMENDED BUY.

Blackhammer/Daemon/2012 Demo Review

Blackhammer are a band from Italy that plays a very blackened form of doom/death metal and this is a review of their 2012 demo "Daemon".

Drum programing from slow to mid paced beats with only a brief use of fast parts and blast beats, while the bass playing has a very dark tone with riffs that follow the riffing that is coming out of the guitars.

Rhythm guitars range from slow to mid paced blackened death metal riffs that also have a doom metal influence with the riffing being very raw and primitive sounding to them and there are no guitar solos or leads present on this recording.

Vocals are all deep death metal growls, while the lyrics cover dark and evil themes, as for the production it has a very dark, raw and primitive sound to it.

In my opinion Blackhammer are a very good sounding blackened death/doom metal hybrid and if you are a fan of this style, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Daemon Noctis" and "Armagaddon". RECOMMENDED BUY>

Sectorial/Erase And Reborn The Humanity/Metal Scrap Records/2012 CD Review

  Sectorial are a band from Ukraine that plays a mixture of black metal, thrash, grind and crustcore and this is a review of their 2012 album "Erase And Reborn The Humanity" which was released by Metal Scrap Records.

Drums range from mid paced to fast drumming with a great amount of blast beats being thrown into the music, while the bass playing has a very strong and powerful tone with grinding riffs that dominate throughout the recording, as for the flutes which are only utilized briefly on a couple of songs they give the music mid 60's feeling, in addition there are some sound effects and folk instruments being used on certain songs of this recording.

Rhythm guitars range from mid paced to fast riffing that combines black metal, thrash, grind and crustcore together to create a sound of it owns, while the lead guitars are very chaotic sounding crustcore/metal guitar solos and leads.

Vocals are mostly blackened/death metal screams and growls that are heavily influenced by crust and thrash with some samples from movies being used on some songs, while the lyrics hateful, anti religion and everyday themes as for the production it has a very strong, heavy and powerful sound to it.

In my opinion Sectorial are a very great sounding black/thrash/grind/crustcore hybrid and if you are a fan of this style, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "He Who Eats The Tale" "Passing By" "Internal Enemy" and "Religion-Business". RECOMMENDED BUY.

Omission Interview

1. Can you give us an update on what is going on with the band these days?
Hailz!!! Well these days are frenetic searching for a new label to release the 3rd album, will be recorded end april and we want to release it in september, pre production is done, all artwork is also done, in between we have some gigs, the biggest in Portugal SWR Barroselas.
Quite productive have to say.

2. How would you describe the musical sound of the newer material and how it differs from previous releases?
Well speaking of Mercilles Jaws from Hell, the main difference is in the solos, more melodic and less shred, the music is in the same path as Thrash Metal is Violence, the sound is a bit cleaner...but not too much.

3. What at are some of the lyrical topics and subjects the band explores with the music?
The lyrics are based in a few books, basically we speak about revenge, anti religion and being free of mind, no chains, only on stage haha.

4. What is the meaning and inspiration behind the bands name?
The band picked the name after the Testament song Sins of Omission, and with so many Omissions done by Catolic church we thought it was perfect, besides not ending in TOR like many bands now we thought was a good War name.

5. What are some of the best shows that the band has played so far and how would you describe your stage performance?
We cannot judge ouselfs, that is a work for the press, what I read is that we have a good live performance, critics in Spain and Portugal use to say that we destroy the stages...When we go onstage we just deliver everything we have, our anger ,violence, aggression...people can feel that we give 1000% for their ticket.

6. Are there any touring plans for the future?
We have families and jobs so it's difficult for us to tour, what we do is to play in weekend fests, but now I'm (Marco) the only one with a job so the other guys can go on tour without me haha, we will try to play in bigger fests all over Europe, and we can think on mini tours if its a good business for us.

7. Currently War Productions re-issued your album on cassette how did you feel about the release?
Great!!! They already released a tape with the 2nd and 3rd demo and the first record too, they are friends and do it because they like it, in Omission we are old guys used to vinyl and tapes so it's great to have our music in all possible formats.

8. On a worldwide level how has your music been recieved by underground metal fans?
We have good reviews all over, from malasia where we are a part of a 4 way split cd with Thrashingfist Demons, in Greece we have good friends in Convixion and Greg from Eat Metal Records, Japan Miki at Stakk records also helped us selling some records there...US I don't have a clue...South america we have a few friends from Brazil and Mexico...usually people who write us is to give their support.

9. Are there any other projects besides this band or is this a full time line-up?
This is is our main band, than each one of us has other side projects, James plays in Wolfencross, Daviti in Moñigo, Patillas has a secret project hahaha...I don't know if I can reveal it and I'm helping Decayed with the solos in studio, the focus is OMISSION.

10. What direction do you see the music heading into on future releases?
Our music will be more and more aggressive and violent, the new tracks are heavier, many hellish thrash riffs and a lot of blast beats, actually i'm listening to the pre-production sent by the guys while answering this interview (I live in Lisbon and the rest in Madrid) and the guys did a hell of a job, i'll destroy it with shity solos hahahaha.It's powerfull.

11. What are some of the bands and musical styles that have influenced your music and also what are you listening to nowadays?
Omission influences hum... all kind of old Thrash Metal, Punk, NWOBHM, new black metal...a bit of the best.
Right now I'm listening to the new Van Halen to learn a bit hahaha, the other guys I don't know, Patillas listens to all kind of shit with metal in the end, James is more into pagan black stuff and Daviti likes Grind...I stay with my oldies from the NWOBHM.

12. What role does Satanism and Occultism play in your music and how would you describe your vies on these topics
We use satanic images and expressions as a major form of freedom of expression. We are against all kind of religions, we believe in ourselfs, nothing else, we can burn a bible or a coran or a satanic bible, we don't follow. Religion is for sheeps, we just use it.

13. Outside of music what are some of your interests?
Being with the family takes all my time, like football, trying to be away from politics, Daviti is a freak for tv animation, the others the usuall stuff. going out see some gigs... alcohol and drungs for all.

14. Any final words or thoughts before we wrap up this interview?
Be prepared for the new album to be unleashed in September a blast of Satanicspeed Thrash Metal in your face.
