Abominant/Where Demons Dwell/DeathGasm Records/2010 CD Review

Abominant are a band from Kentucky that plays a brutal form of blackened death metal and this is a review of their 2010 album "Where Demons Dwell" which was released by DeathGasm Records.

Drums range from slow, mid  paced to very fast with a  lot of brutal blast beats, while the bass playing has a very dark tone which follows the riffing that is coming out of the guitars.

Rhythm guitars are a combination of slow, mid  paced to fast death metal guitar riffs that also take a good amount of influences from black metal with some occasional thrash metal sounding riffing and a small amount of melody, while the lead guitars are very distorted and melodic sounding death metal guitar solos.

Vocals are mostly deep death metal growls with some high pitched black metal screams, while the lyrics cover gore, mutilation, death, and horror with a demonic edge, while the production has a very dark, raw and heavy edge.

In my opinion Abominant are a very good and talented blackened death metal band, that should appeal to all fans of the genre. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Baptized By Steel" "Blackened Earth" and "Where Demons Dwell". RECOMMENDED BUY.
