Extirpation are a band from Italy that plays a mixture of black and thrash metal and this is a review of their 2015 album "Winds Of Decadence" which was released by Nightbreaker productions.
A very heavy sound starts off the album before going into more of a blackened thrash metal direction that also uses a great amount of high pitched screams and blast beats as well as having a perfect balance between the first and second wave genres of black metal while the production gives the music more of a modern day feeling.
When solos and leads are utilized they are in a very chaotic 80's influenced extreme metal direction and the songs also bring in a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts and some of the riffs also bring in melodies at times and you can also hear all of the musical instruments that are present on this recording and the whole album remains true to a very heavy musical style from the beginning to last riff and there is never a soft moment present in any of the tracks.
Extirpation plays a musical style that takes first and second wave black metal and mixes them with thrash but done in a more modern fashion, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover thrash and society themes.
In my opinion Extirpation are a very great sounding mixture of black and thrash metal and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Thrash The Enemy" "Desires Of Dust" "Daily Struggle" and "Wings Of Decadence". 8 out of 10.
