Schizogoat are a band from Brazil that plays a mixture of black and thrash metal and this is a review of their 2021 ep "War. Pestilence And Sacrifice" which will be released on August 28th by Helldprod Records.
A very dark and heavy sound starts off the ep while the faster sections of the songs also add in a great amount of blast beats. Vocals are mostly grim sounding black metal screams along with the riffs also adding in a small amount of dark sounding melodies and the tracks also mix in a decent amount of thrash metal elements.
The songs also mix in a good mixture of both 80's and 90's influences in with a more modern day aggression. Tremolo picking is also added into some of the faster riffing along with some of the songs also adding in a decent mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts and all of the music also sticks to a heavier direction.
Schizogoat plays a musical style that mixes black and thrash metal together to create a sound of their own. The production sounds very old school while the lyrics cover darkness, evil, blasphemy and alcohol themes.
In my opinion Schizogoat are a very great sounding blackened thrash metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this ep. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Hellishkiller" "Under Fire" and "Evil Necromancy". 8 out of 10.
