Ironhawk are a band from Australia that plays a mixture of black, thrash, speed, heavy metal and punk and this is a review of their 2022 album "Ritual Of The War Path" which will be released on June 30th by Dying Victims Productions.
Dark soundscapes start off the album before going into more of an 80's influenced heavier direction while the riffs also add in a great amount of melody. When the music speeds up a great amount of thrash and speed metal elements can be heard while the vocals bring in more of an aggressive first wave black metal style.
At times the music also brings in the raw aggression of punk rock while the faster sections of the songs also add in a decent amount of blast beats. When guitar solos and leads are utilized they also remain true to an old school style along with some of the mid tempo sections of the songs also showing an influence of traditional metal and the dark soundscapes also make a brief return on a couple of the later tracks, as the album progresses clean playing can also be heard briefly and the album closes with an instrumental.
Ironhawk plays a musical style that takes black, thrash, speed, heavy metal and punk and mixes them together to create a sound of their own. The production sounds very old school while the lyrics cover war and darkness themes.
In my opinion Ironhawk are a very great sounding mixture of black, thrash, speed metal, heavy metal and punk and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Signal To Oblivion" "Eternal Winter" "Doomsday Rider" and "Ritual of The War Path". 8 out of 10.
