Gallower are a band from Poland that plays a mixture of black and thrash metal and this is a review of their 2022 ep "Eastern Witchcraft" which will be released in July by Dying Victims Productions.
A very fast and aggressive sound starts off the ep along with a great amount of blast beats while the music is also very heavily rooted in the 80's era. Elements of thrash metal can also be heard quite a bit throughout the recording as well as the vocals being done in mostly a first wave black metal style.
Throughout the recording you can also hear a decent mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts while melodies can also be heard in some of the guitar riffing. When guitar solos and leads are utilized they also remain true to an old school style as well as a couple of songs also adding in a brief use of clean playing and acoustic gutiars, all of the musical instruments on the ep also have a very powerful sound to them.
Gallower plays a musical style that goes back to the 80's era's of black and thrash metal. The production sounds very old school while the lyrics cover Necromancy, Witchcraft, Evil, Middle Ages and War themes.
In my opinion Gallower are a very great sounding sounding mixture of black and thrash metal and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Eastern Witchcraft" and "Enchanted Woods". 8 out of 10.
