Nekkromaniac are a band from Germany that plays a blackened form of thrash metal and this is a review of their 2022 album "Plague Eater" which was released by Gates Of Hell Records.
A very heavy and aggressive thrash metal sound starts off the album while the faster sections of the songs also add in a great amount of blast beats. Vocals are mostly high pitched black metal screams along with the music also adding in a lot of first wave elements and tremolo picking can also be heard in some of the faster riffing.
Throughout the recording you can also hear a decent mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts while melodies are also added into some of the guitar riffing. All of the musical instruments on the album also have a very powerful sound to them along with one song also introducing clean playing into the songs as well as some death metal growls also being utilized briefly, when guitar solos and leads are finally utilized they also remain true to a more old school style.
Nekkromaniac plays a musical style that goes back to the 80's and 90s era of black and thrash metal and mixes them together to create a sound of their own. The production sounds very old school while the lyrics cover chaos, blasphemy, occultism, horror and decay themes.
In my opinion Nekkromaniac are a very great sounding blackened thrash metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Plague Eater" "Pit And The Pendulum" and "Tyrants Command". 8 out of 10.
