Dark sounding synths starts off the album before going into a heavier direction while you can also hear all of the musical instruments that are present on the recording. When the music speeds up a decent amount of blast beats can also be heard along with the riffs also adding i a lot of thrash metal elements.
Vocals are mostly death metal growls mixed in with a few black metal screams while the music is heavily rooted in the 90's mixed in with a more modern take on the genre. Throughout the album you can also hear a good mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts along with the solos and leads also adding in more of a melodic old school metal style and one of the tracks also adds in a brief use of choir chants before returning back to a heavier direction, clean playing is also added on the closing track.
The Great Observer plays a musical style that takes black, death and thrash metal and mixes them together to create a sound of their own. The production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover the existentialism philosophies of Friedrich Nietzsche, Soren Kierkegaard, Jean Paul-Satire, Albert Camus and the classic Greek/Latin authors Democritus, Epicurus and Lucretius.
In my opinion The Great Observer are a very great sounding mixture of black, death and thrash metal and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "The Great observer" "How Far The Faithless Will Venture" Impervious Creation" and "Loss Of Transcendence". 8 out of 10.
