Anne O are a band from Spain that plays a mixture of black, death metal, hardcore punk and progressive rock and this is a review of their 2024 album "Metatron" which was released by Art Gates Records.
A very heavy, aggressive and melodic sound starts off the album while the vocals are a mixture of black metal screams and death metal growls. Elements of hardcore punk are also added into the mid tempo sections of the songs and when the music speeds up a decent amount of tremolo picking and blast b eats can be heard.
Throughout the recording you can also hear a good mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts while most of the tracks are also very long and epic in length. When clean playing is utilized they also give the songs more of a progressive touch along with the solos and leads also being done in a very melodic style, shouts are also added into some of the vocals and spoken word parts can also be heard briefly.
Anne O plays a musical style that takes black, death metal, hardcore punk and progressive rock and mixes them together to create a sound of their own. The production sounds very professional while the lyrics are written in Spanish and cover dark and philosophical themes.
In my opinion Anne O are a very great sounding mixture of black, death metal, hardcore punk and progressive rock and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Gnosis" and "Burdel de Reliquias". 8 out of 10.
