Coffinwood are a band from Poland that plays a mixture of black and death metal and this is a review of their self released 2024 album "Acolytes Of Eternal Flame".
War and news samples start off the album before going into more of a heavier and brutal direction. A great portion of the tracks are also very long and epic in length while the vocals also bring in a mixture of death metal growls and black metal screams and blast beats are also added into the faster sections of the songs.
Dark sounding melodies are also added into some of the guitar riffing while the fast riffs also add in a good amount of tremolo picking. Throughout the recording you can also hear a good mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts along with the solos and leads also being done in a melodic style
Spoken words can also be heard at times along with some tracks also adding in some apocalyptic soundscapes as well as some synths also being utilized briefly, war samples also return on later songs. The production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover the Chernobyl power plant disaster.
In my opinion Coffinwood are a very great sounding mixture of black and death metal and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUD E "Disposition Of Doom" Acolytes Of Eternal Flame" and "Sarcophagus". 8 out of 10.
