Bezdan are a band from Croatia that plays a mixture of black, death, thrash and speed metal and this is a review of their 2025 album "Upon The Altar" which was released by I hate Records.
A very dark yet heavy sound starts off the album while the riffs also add in a decent amount of melody. You can also hear all of the musical instruments that are present on the recording along with the solos and leads going for more of an old school extreme metal style and blast beats are added into the faster sections of the songs.
Elements of thrash and speed metal are also utilized quite a bit throughout the recording while the vocals bring in a mixture of first wave black metal screams and 80's style death metal growls. Throughout the album you can also hear a good mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts and all of the songs stick to a heavier direction.
Bezdan plays a musical style that takes black, death, thrash and speed metal and mixes them together to create a sound of their own. The production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover darkness, death and blasphemy themes.
In my opinion Bezdan are a very great sounding mixture of black, death, thrash and speed metal and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Sacrificial Death" "Hades Knights" and "Crypts Of Ancient". 8 out of 10.
