Plague Pit/A Whispered Curse/Road To Masochist/2025 EP Review

 

      Plague  Pit  are  a  band  from  the  United  Kingdom  that  plays  a  mixture  of  black  metal,  hardcore  and  crust  and  punk  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  2025  ep  "A  Whispered  Curse"  which  was  released  by  Road  To  Masochist.

  Dark  soundscapes  start  off  the  ep  before  going  into  a  heavier  direction  while  melodies  are  also  added  into  some  of  the  guitar  riffing.  Vocals  are  a  mixture  of  death  metal  growls  and  black  metal  screams  while  the  faster  sections  of  the  songs  also  add  in  a  great  amount  of  blast  beats  and  the  music  also  adds  in  elements  of  hardcore,  d  beat  and  crust  punk.

  Throughout  the  recording  you  can  also  hear  a  good  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts  while  all  of  the  musical  instruments  also  have  a  very  powerful  sound  to  them.  Synths  can  also  be  heard  briefly  along  with  most  of  the  riffing   also  being  done  on  power  chords  as  well  as  adding  in  a  brief  use  of  melody,  clean  playing and  synths  are  also  added  towards  the  end.

  Plague  Pit  plays  a  musical  style  that  takes  black  metal,  hardcore  and  crust  punk  and  mixes  them  together  to  create  a  sound  of  their  own.  The  production  sounds  very  professional  while  the  lyrics  cover  dark  themes.

  In  my  opinion  Plague  Pit  are  a  very  great  sounding  mixture  of  black  metal,  hardcore  and  crust  punk  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  those  musical  genres,  you  should  check  out  this  band.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "The  Seventh  Bell"  and  "A  Whispered  Curse".  8  out  of  10.
