Death Obvious are a duo from Finland that plays a mixture of black, doom and death metal and this is a review of their self titled 2025 album which was released by Transcending Obscurity.
Distorted noises start off the album before going into a very fast and brutal direction which also utilizes a great amount of tremolo picking and blast beats. Vocals are a mixture of black metal screams and death metal growls while all of the musical instruments on the recording also have a very powerful sound to them.
Elements of doom metal are also added into the slower sections of the album while the songs also add in a good mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts. The guitar riffing also uses a great amount of melody along with the recording also having its dissonant and avant garde moments.
When guitar solos and leads are utilized they are also done in a very dark yet melodic style along with a couple of songs also adding in a small amount of clean playing and keyboards and a couple of tracks are also very long and epic in length. The production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover occultism and darkness themes.
In my opinion Death Obvious are a very great sounding mixture of black, doom and death metal and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this b and. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Mercury Off Axis" "Total Heavenly Desolation" and "Catechisms For the Plagued'. 8 out of 10.
