Flagelo/Insaciable/Nuclear Winter Records/Night Terrors Records/2025 EP Review

 

  Flagelo  are  a  band  from  Columbia  that  plays  a  mixture  of  black,  doom,  death  metal  and  grindcore  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  2025  ep  "Insaciable"  which  was  released  as  a  joint  effort  between  Nuclear  Winter  and  Night  Terrors  Records.

  A  very  dark  yet  heavy  sound  starts  off  the  ep  while  the  slower  sections  of  the  songs  also  add  in  elements  of  doom  metal.  Vocals  are  mostly  cavernous  death  metal  growls  along  with  some melodies  also  being  added  into  some  of  the  guitar  riffing  and  blast  beats  are  also  added  into t he  faster  sections  of  the  songs.

  Black  metal  screams  are  also  utilized  at  times  while  the  faster  riffs  also  add  in  some  tremolo  picking  and  the  brutality  of  grindcore.  All  of  the  musical  instruments  also  have  a  very  powerful  sound  to  them  along  with  the  songs  also  adding  in a   good  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts  and  a  couple  of  the  tracks  are  also  very  long  and  epic  in  length,  clean  playing  can  also  be  heard  briefly  and  when  guitar  solos  and  leads  are  finally  utilized  they  are  also  done  in  a  very  dark  yet  melodic  style.

  Flagelo  plays  a  musical  style  that  takes  black,  doom,  death  metal  and  grindcore  and  mixes   them  together  to  create  a  sound  of  their  own.  The  production  sounds  very  professional  while  the  lyrics  cover  death  and  darkness  themes.    

  In  my  opinion  Flegelo  are  a  very  great  sounding  mixture  of  black,  doom,  death  metal  and  grindcore  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  those  musical  genres,  you  should  check  out  this  band.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Insaciable"  and  "Eslabon".  8  out  of  10.
