Germany's Karloff has returned with a new recording which shows the music going for a mixture of black, death metal and punk and this is a review of their album "Revered By Death" which will be released in 2026 by Dying Victims Productions.
A very hard and heavy sound starts off the album while you can also hear all of the musical instruments that are present on the recording. Vocals are mostly done in more of a first wave black metal style mixed in with a death metal aggression along with the music also adding in a great amount of punk elements.
Melodies are also added into some of the guitar riffing while the album also adds in a good mixture of both modern and old school touches. Influences of post-punk and deathrock can also be heard at times along with one track also adding in a brief use of clear singing, clean playing can also be heard briefly as well as one song also being an instrumental and when the music finally speeds up you can also hear a small amount of tremolo picking and blast beats.
On this recording Karloff continues to expand on the mixture of black, death metal and punk that they have introduced on previous releases. The production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover death and darkness themes.
In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from Karloff and if you are a fan of black, death metal and punk, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "A Pessimistic Soaring" " On Weathered Altar" and "Elisabetha's Revenge". 8 out of 10.
