Orbstruct are a band from Ukraine that plays a blackened form of death metal and this is a review of their 2025 album "Ostracism" which was released by Paragon Records.
An apocalyptic sounding intro starts off the album before going into more of a heavy and brutal direction. All of the musical instruments also have a very powerful sound to them while the vocals are mostly death metal growls while black metal screams are also utilized at times and blast b eats are also added into the faster sections of the recording.
Dark sounding melodies are also added into some of the guitar riffing while the solos and leads stick to more of an old school death metal style. Throughout the album you can also hear a good mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts along with the riffing also adding a more modern approach to the genre, spoken words can also be heard at times and a couple of tracks also add in a small amount of synths as well a s some of the fast riffing also adding in a small amount of tremolo picking.
Orbstruct plays a musical style that takes a brutal form of death metal and mixes it with the darkness of black metal to create a sound of their own. The production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover agnosticism, atheism, self-improvement and self-development.
In my opinion Orbstruct are a very great sounding blackened death metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this recording. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Hive" "Sunflowers On Our Fields" and "Only You And I". 9 out of 10.
